NSAA Mountain Biker's Responsibility Code
While we continue construction of the Timberline Bike Park, we ask that guests and public stay out of the construction areas for their own safety as well as the safety of the build crew. This will also allow the build crew to be more efficient in the limited amount of time they have to complete projects.
Bikers, when involved in a biking accident, shall not depart from the ski area/bike park without leaving their names and addresses if reasonably possible.
A biker who is injured should, if reasonably possible, give notice of the injury to the bike park/ ski area operator before leaving the bike park/ski area.
Bikers shall not embark or disembark from a lift except at designated areas or by the authority of the bike park/ski area operator.
Violation of any of the duties of bikers set forth in subsection (1) of this section entitles the bike park/ski area operator to withdraw the violator’s privilege of biking.
Riding in the alpine is a privilege that needs to be respected. It is a sensitive environment which requires everyone accessing it to be responsible with preserving its natural state. Your knowledge, decisions, and actions contribute to your safety and that of others.
Do your part to control the spread of invasive weeds: Please clean your bike before entering the bike park at the bike wash station. Invasive weeds can spread when their seeds hitch a ride in the mud and dirt on your bike, shoes, and other equipment. Some plants can even spread from vegetation that can get stuck in your chain or gears.
It is of utmost importance that we protect Mt. Hood's water resources, prevent erosion, revegetate the landscape, and promote bee habitats while the bike park is operating and/or under construction. Timberline's Trail Crew have experience as trail stewards for other Mt. Hood bike trails. They work closely with Timberline's own Environmental Coordinator and the US Forest Service to make the Timberline Bike Park a sustainable and environmentally-conscious project.
For over 60 years, R.L.K. and Company has been an integral part of the Mt. Hood community. We recognize that we operate within a cherished natural landscape and actively work towards the preservation of Timberline Lodge and its natural surroundings.
