Above the main lodge at 7,000 feet,
Silcox Hut is perfect for groups looking for a private overnight
hideaway. Your stay includes dinner, lodging, breakfast, and round-trip
transportation from the main lodge. Planning a company or corporate
retreat? You won't find a better spot!
There
are two package options. We can make up the bunks for you with sheets,
pillows and blankets or you can provide your own sleeping bags and
pillows, click here for rates
(at bottom of page). The minimum number of people required to book
Silcox on weekends and holidays is 16, Sunday through Thursday evenings
the minimum is reduced to 12. The Hut is also a perfect location for
informal weddings of up to 40 people (Hut only has capacity for 24
overnight guests). *A $100 nonrefundable deposit is required at the
time of reservation.
Silcox guests enjoy the hospitality of a host who is with you for the
entire stay. While rustic in a traditional sense, the Silcox Hut does
offer modern conveniences including running water, heat, light and
indoor plumbing. The host maintains communication via radio and
telephone and is trained in CPR and other vital first aid functions.
One large room serves as the living area and features a fireplace,
hand-carved wooden tables and chairs, and a kitchen/bar area. It is the
centerpiece of the lodge and provides cozy accommodation for
conversation, meetings, games, and other activities.
The next level of the lodge offers three restrooms, one with a shower.
The first floor of the lodge accommodates six rooms. Five of the rooms
have two stacked single bunks (for a total of four beds each); the
sixth room offers a stacked queen-sized bunk (a total of two beds). The
rooms are all adjacent and offer three walls and a curtain which serves
as the door.
Food is served family style and is prepared by your host. A typical
dinner entree is vegetarian or meat lasagna, including green salad,
vegetables, rolls and butter, fruit, coffee or tea, and dessert.
Breakfast includes old-fashioned oatmeal, fruit, juice, muffins and
pastries, and coffee or tea. Alternatives are available for an
additional fee to the package price.
Transportation is provided via snow-cat or on our Magic Mile Chairlift,
weather permitting. When Magic Mile is open, skiers may ski directly to
Silcox for the night and then ski out and down to the main runs in the
morning. Upon arrival, your luggage is stored at the main lodge in a
locker and then transported with the group. Transportation for one
round-trip per group per night is included in the package price.
Additional trips can be arranged for a fee.
Silcox guests are welcome to use the facilities at the main lodge,
including the pool, sauna, spa, and showers. Check-in time for Silcox
is 4:00 p.m. and checkout is 10:00 a.m.
