SKI THE GLADE

Saturday, March 1, 2025 starting at 9:00am

Annually, the Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum holds “Ski the Glade Trail Day” as a living history event. Under permit from the US Forest Service, the trail is groomed by Timberline Lodge. Participants get a history lesson and a full day of trail skiing. Participants ride shuttle buses to Timberline Lodge and ski down the Glade Trail as many times as they wish. They are supported by local trail guides and members of the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol. Skiers are treated to a continental breakfast, lunch and an Après Ski Party at the end of the day. The museum has been recreating this historical trail skiing experience for over 20 years. A whole new generation of skiers can now experience trail skiing on Mount Hood.

Theme: “It’s A Dress-up Day!” Wear your favorite retro ski gear – wool knickers, Kangaroo-pocket windbreakers, neon, one-piece suits, wind-shirts, the whole gamut! Be ready to tell a story! Earn the prize for “Best Outfit and Story of the Day.”

JUNETEENTH FREEDOM SHRED

Presented by Spencer J. Conley
HONORING 160 YEARS FREEDOM AND CELEBRATION OF THIS AMERICAN HOLIDAY!

Timberline is hosting Coach Spencer Conley and friends to celebrate and honor Juneteenth on Mt. Hood on Wednesday, June 19, 2025. All are invited to join the Juneteenth Freedom Shred, featuring a group shred down Palmer, a Juneteenth flag raising ceremony, and a whole lot of fun.

Thursday, June 19th, JUNETEENTH
10:19am Group Shred from the top of Palmer (recommended for advanced skiers and snowboarders only)
12:30pm Send it Summer Park Jam in the Mile Public Park

Juneteenth honors the heroic pursuit for freedom for all Americans. On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger, along with 2,000 Union soldiers, arrived in Galveston, TX, to deliver the news to the last 250,000 enslaved African Americans that they were free. This news came two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 17th, 2021, President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law establishing Juneteenth as a federal holiday, to be celebrated and honored by all Americans as part of our history.

About Spencer Conley - Many inspirational speakers make a presentation with passion – and Spencer J. Conley does that, too. However, Conley also shows his audiences how to put his “talk” into “action,” encouraging them to not just DREAM but wake up and – LIVE it – live beyond doubt, lack, fear, race, gender, and EXC– USE. As a former professional athlete and coach, Spencer Conley now brings even more to others all over the world by being a professional speaker. He has established programs that encourage change and growth by presenting life changing inspiration to the beautiful people on six out of seven of our world’s incredible continents.

Sunday, July 13, 2025 / 10:00am - 3:00pm

Join us at Timberline and check out the Halo-Halo course! Access on public day is open to the public with a Timberline lift ticket or summer season pass.

Halo-Halo is the ultimate Filipino summer dessert that consists of shaved ice, alongside colorful and flavorful layered components meant to be mixed before being consumed. Like the dessert, Snowboy Productions is once again bringing together a unification of BIPOC voices of professional snowboarders, industry leaders, terrain park builders, filmers, photographers, and youth outreach organizations to share time, space and conversations while building, riding, and documenting a one of a kind snowboard park on the sunny slopes of Mt Hood.

Friday and Saturday is a private setting with invited riders and media building mountains of real-time coverage across social media channels before erupting with Sunday public activation (new this year!) to allow even more participation to THE snowboard event of the summer.
