Timberline Lodge is just over an hour drive from Portland depending on traffic and weather conditions. Timberline strongly urges you to travel safely, be prepared for inclement weather, and use caution when driving in winter weather.

CAUTION: You are entering an Alpine Environment where ice, snow, and irregular conditions may exist at any time on any surface.

Park & Charge

Parking at Timberline is free and first-come, first-served, with separate areas for day use, overnight guests, and buses. EV chargers are in the main lot near the lodge—watch for signs.

Directions

Make Your Way

From Portland Airport:
Take I-205 S to I-84 E, exit at 238th Dr. Follow 238th to Burnside, which becomes US-26 E. Drive 40 miles through Sandy, Welches, and Government Camp. Turn left on Timberline Rd and follow 6 miles to the lodge.

From Hood River:
Take OR-35 S for 38 miles, merge onto US-26 W, then turn right on Timberline Rd. Drive 6 miles to the lodge.

From Salem:
Take I-5 N to I-205 N. Exit onto OR-212 E, then join US-26 E toward Mt. Hood. After 33 miles, turn left on Timberline Rd and continue 6 miles to the lodge.
