June 23, 2026 In Memoriam - Molly Kohnstamm

November 13, 1937 - June 23, 2026

Molly Kohnstamm, a Timberline icon whose vision, dedication, and spirit helped shape this mountain and community for generations.

She believed deeply that Timberline should be a place for the people, a mountain retreat centered on recreation, preservation, and connection. Through decades of dedication, vision, and leadership, she helped influence not just a lodge, but a culture that continues to welcome generations of skiers, snowboarders, hikers, families, and mountain lovers.

Her service on the Timberline Board for more than 60 years reflected a lifelong commitment to the place she loved, but her true impact lives far beyond any title. It lives in the spirit of Timberline itself. Her influence can be felt in every visitor who has found joy here.

An early snowboarding pioneer, ski school instructor, adventurer, world traveler, and seaplane pilot, Molly embraced life with curiosity, courage, and enthusiasm. She shared that spirit generously with others, inspiring countless people to explore, learn, and dream bigger.

Above all, Molly treasured family, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that includes ten grandchildren and generations of people whose lives she touched.

We are deeply grateful for Molly, her friendship, and unwavering love for Timberline.

Her legacy lives on in these mountains, in this lodge, and in all who continue to gather here.

With gratitude and remembrance,
The Timberline Family
