Perfect for Beginners Summit Pass Group Lessons Age 4+

• Groups are divided by age groups
  • Ages 4-5 (limited to 3 per group)
  • Ages 6-12 (limited to 6 per group)
  • Ages 13+ (limited to 8 per group)
• Levels 1 and 2 only, maximum 8 people per group
  • Level 1 - never skied or snowboarded before
  • Level 2 - has skied or snowboarded before, but cannot yet link turns together
  • For Intermediate/advanced Levels 3 – 6, please sign up for lessons at the upper Timberline ski area.

Rentals are NOT included in the lesson price. However, you can add ski or snowboard rentals for a discount:

Helmets can be rented for $10.

To give you time to get rentals, you must arrive at least 1 hour ahead of your lesson time. Guests who arrive within 20 minutes of their lesson start time will not be allowed admission into the class. There will be no refunds for late arrivals. 

Yes. Lessons will be taught primarily at Heidi’s Conveyer Belt Learning Area, but may progress to the areas accessed by chair lift. Children must be 8 years or older to ride a chairlift by themselves while in a lesson. If an instructor is unavailable to ride with a child, another responsible adult or ski school support staff will be asked to assist. 

Please note: Be sure to arrive on time for the lesson and allow enough time to procur rentals as necessary. Guests needing rental products who arrive within 20 minutes of their lesson start time will not be allowed admission into the class. There will be no refunds for late arrivals. 

Parents must pick up children from lesson meeting area, right at the conclusion of the lesson. A $20 late pickup fee will be assessed if parent/guardian is more than 15 minutes late.

• Goggles or another form of eye protection for snow, sun, and wind
• Wicking long underwear, tops and bottoms
• Snow and waterproof ski gloves or mittens
• Snow, water, and windproof insulated winter jacket
• Mid-weight top or fleece shirt (for layering options)
• Neck gaiter/face covering
• Snow and waterproof winter pants
• Lip balm and sunscreen
• A hat or helmet to protect from winter conditions
• Wicking ski socks (thin wool socks are best, thick wool socks often cut off circulation in boots). We recommend just one pair of socks to provide the best level of comfort in ski or snowboard boots.

We DO NOT offer any of the above items to rent.

Reservations are charged in full on the day the reservation is made. Cancellations will be assessed a $50.00 non-refundable cancellation fee within 72 hours of your lesson start time, and changes to your reservation may not be able to be made after this point. We do not accept cancellations due to weather. We do ask you to be prepared for winter weather and driving conditions. Cancellations or no shows the day of the reservations will forfeit 100% of the reservation product cost.

The Summit Pass Cafe is open when lifts are running.

Yes. We offer a shuttle service during winter months from the parking lot of Summit Pass to Timberline for guests with a lift ticket, season pass, or proof of a lesson. The shuttle runs in a loop throughout the day. You may also ride the Mt Hood Express for a small fee, which runs on a schedule (link to schedule). 

No, but you may purchase a Timberline lift ticket at Summit Pass. A Timberline lift ticket may be required to board the shuttle.
