Day 1:
Day 2:
Skiing on world famous Palmer Snowfield
Accessed by a high speed quad chairlift that reaches an elevation of 8,540 feet on the south slope of Mt. Hood, the Palmer Snowfield is THE place for summer skiing and snowboarding in the United States. Make some turns in the sun, improve your skills, and check out all the action happening on the snowfield. Some of the largest summer snow camps in the world, including High Cascade Snowboard Camp, Windell's, and others call Timberline their home in the summer. You may even see some professional athletes training for the upcoming winter!
Rock Climbing
Basic rock climbing skills will be explored in a safe and controlled environment. Learn how to properly use rock climbing equipment, belay and rappel. Activites focus on team work, moving efficiently on the rock, critical thinking and safety. You'll take away the skills needed to have fun and climb safely in an outdoor or indoor climbing environment. Both traditional and sport climbing techniques will be reviewed.
Basic Mountaineering
Timberline has the greatest playground/learning environment for snowsports -- Mt. Hood. It's slopes and glaciers provide an excellent classroom for many outdoor/mountaineering skills. Focus will be put on gear use and safety, safe glacier travel, use of ice axe and crampons, self-arrest techniques, crevasse rescue, avalanche awareness and safety, leadership and teamwork. All in a beautiful and exciting setting.
Outdoor Camping
Want to know what it takes to set up camp in adverse conditions? We'll show you how. The camp group will build a base camp, and use it for the duration of the camp. Get ready to have some fun around the camp fire!
