The 37th annual Hood to Coast Relay kicks off from Timberline Lodge on Friday, August 24 at 5:00am

The Hood To Coast Relay is an overnight, long-distance relay race. It is one of the longest and largest relays in the world, with 12,600 in Hood To Coast Relay, 18,000 total participants, including Portland To Coast Walk Relay and High School Challenge Relay. Considered to be on the “bucket list” for many a runner and walker, Hood To Coast has filled its team limit for the past 25 years, and 18 straight years on “Opening Day” of the lottery. The course runs approximately 320 km, 200 mi, with course length changes by 1-5 km each year due to small changes made by race organizers. Starting at Timberline Lodge on the slopes of Mount Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon, through the Portland metropolitan area, and over the Oregon Coast Range, finishing on the beach of Seaside on the Oregon Coast.

Please join us on August 19th and 26th for Timberline’s FDR Sunset Dinners. This limited seating dinner is served outdoors on Timberline’s Roosevelt Terrace where FDR stood when dedicating the Lodge in 1937 and where the views of the Cascade Mountain Range and sunsets are unparalleled.

Timberline Executive Chef Jason Stoller Smith creates dinner menus from seasonal produce, meats, cheeses and seafood all delivered from local farmers and the seaside. Everyone is seated together at a community table for this intimate family-style dinner.

The 2018 Timberline Mountain Music Festival will feature a dynamic selection of some of the finest young string bands currently recording and touring the folk, bluegrass, and roots music scene.

SALMON HEADWATERS CLEANUP

Help SOLVE clean up this recreational hotspot and top of the Sandy River Watershed on September 15, 2018, 10am - 1pm. As the upper portion of our Timberline to Troutdale Cleanup, the Salmon Headwaters Cleanup is focused on reducing trash with a watershed-wide impact.

Coordinated by the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council and Snowrider Project, in partnership with the Mt. Hood National Forest Zigzag District, Timberline Lodge, and others. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome, just bring sturdy footwear, a water bottle, and appropriate clothing for mountain weather (lots of layers!). Work gloves and pick up sticks are encouraged if you have them.

Lifts will be running to give volunteers a scenic view of the Timberline Ski Resort. Coffee, donuts, and snacks provided for volunteers!

Each year we find a beautiful 30’ tall evergreen to adorn the Main Lobby Headhouse and kick off the holidays! Join us on Friday, December 8, 20167 at 6pm when we officially light up the tree. Afterwards continue the fun and help us decorate. We will sing carols after the lighting for anyone who wants to join in! You may also enjoy the view from the Ram’s Head Bar and Restaurant with a warm or frosty beverage. Or, continue the festive fun with dinner in the Cascade Dining Room.

There is no charge to join us for our Christmas Tree Lighting and no reservations are required.

A wintry evening of skiing or snowboarding is such a memorable way to enjoy the last day of the year that many have made it an annual tradition. Night skiing begins at 4:00pm and continues until midnight. Dance the night away with Nobody’s Sweetheart. Warm up in the Ram’s Head Bar and watch our beautiful fireworks show at 10:00pm.
